Rapolano Terme began as a family castle Cacciaconti in the thirteenth century and almost immediately passes into the orbit of the Republic of Siena , which is one of the last bastions against the incursions of Arezzo .

Inside the old town , all closed now incorporated from the walls of the houses , but still well-defined and marked by numerous towers, preserved four churches : the Parish of Santa Maria Assunta, the Oratory of Misericordia , the Church of Corpus Christi and the small Church of St. Bartholomew , perhaps the oldest (it is located in the highest part of the village and the old , the Castellare ) .

The most important religious building , however, is outside the country , the Parish of St. Victor, dating from the eleventh century , with a majestic Romanesque style and a beautiful terrace on the concrete below.

In the municipal area , numerous villages , forts or castles a time , and still retain a military facility clearly visible traces of the past : Armaiolo, Modanella and Poggio Santa Cecilia definitely worth a visit , also to enjoy the beautiful landscape that surrounds them.
